The lower Pudding river has been a very fine bass producer. Water is high in the north and south Santiam rivers and fishing has been j»oor. McKenzie river water conditions have improved slightly and fishing is fair. Pros[»ects for the weekend are good if the water continues । to recede and the weather is fa- । vorabie. Be sure to mail in your ' McKenzie catch cards. Fishing is poor in the middle 1 fork of the Willamette and its tributaries due to heavy rains and snow run-off. All streams in east ern I-ano county except the coast , fork of the Willamette and the Long Tom river continue to be high and roily. The Marilyn lakes on the Willamette pass have pro- duced nice catches of Eastern , brook. The Gold lake road still is closet! and fishing has been poor due to weather conditions. Coastal Section Trout fishing is slow through out the coastal area. A few limit catches have been made in Tilla mook county. Smith river and Sweet creek offer the best possi bilities for trout angling along the central coast. Bass and pan fish angling is good in most of the lakes. Surf and bay fishing for sea perch, flounder, and kelp fish is good, while salmon fishing on the lower Rogue continues poor. Fla. (International) ity of Austin Hot Springs and Big River Forest Camp. In the Mt. Hood area, the lower stretches of the Zig Zag river have produced nice catches, espe cially near One Mile bridge. The Salmon river and the Upper Sandy also have been good. Several nice catches of cutthroat have been taken on Camp creek and Still creek with bait fishing, spinner, and worms producing the best re sults. The roads to Lost lake Wahtum lake. Badger lake. Clear lake, and the Olallie lake group still are blocked by snow. Some of these roads may not be opened until the Fourth of July. Parties hiking into Clear lake have had medium suc cess. Southern Oregon On the upper Umpqua, water conditions are fair. Streams gen erally are high but dropping and clearing rapidly. Trout fishing is good. Bait is most productive but some good catches arc being made on wet flies.
