PFC Hamilton is a vet eran of almost six year« in the army and participated n the Gil bert, Marshall and Palau Island campaigns He last was stationed in the Palaus at an advanced base An auto mechanic in civilian life. PFC Hamilton enlisted in the army in November 1939 and re ceived his basic training at Fort Bliss, Texas. He then saw service as a military policeman and field artillery truck driver, until he was assigned to his present unit, an infantry regiment, in November. 1943, just before going overseas. After a brief stay in the Hawaiian Islands, he took part in the occu- pation of Makin Atoll in the Gü- bert Islands and then also saw duty at Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshalls. After Kwajalein it again Hawaii, but m January of this year he again departed, this time for the Palau Islands PFC Hamilton last was a heavy mortar crewman. He wears the good con- duct medal.
