R e p o r t e r T e l e p h o n e 1 59 H A FLEY-N O KD Y KE, A wedding of interest to C ot tage Grove people was that of Miss M arjorie Nordyke, daughter o f M r. and Mrs. J. M. N ordyke o f O akville, and Kenneth Safley of Ocean Lake, son of Mrs. M argaret Safley o f Cottage Grove. The ceremony was performed on F r i day, Ju ly 4th at 4:30 p. m. in the gardens at the home o f M r. and Mrs. F. C. Pate in Albany. The Episcopalian service was read by the Rev. N orton, vica r o f St. Peter's church, as the bridal party stood before the garden fireplace which was banked w ith large bou quets o f seafoam and early sum mer flowers. E ig hty relatives and friends of the b rid a l couple w it nessed the ceremony. The bride was becomingly gowned in a blue redingote and picture hat o f blue. She wore a corsage of orchids. Preceding the ceremony Mrs. Leonard Haglund played the wed ding music and Miss V irg in ia Isom sang, " A t D aw ning," and "Love’s Old Sweet Song.” A fte r the wedding an inform a l reception was held w ith Mrs. W a lte r W. S tu a rt and Mrs. Law rence R ickert cu ttin g the ices. Presiding at the coffee urns were Mrs. Fred W ard and Mrs. J. L. B ird of Salem. Miss V irg in ia Isom served punch and M rs. W ilb u r Yates served the wedding cake. Mrs. Flood assisted in arranging fo r the event. Serving were M rs. Julius Haglund. Mrs. Leonard Haglund. Miss Donna Safley and Miss Beverly Haglund. The young couple le ft on a b rie f wedding tr ip im m ediately follow - ¡ng the reception. They are m ak- ing th e ir home at Ocean Lake. M r. Safley is a fo rm e r resident o f Cottage Grove. In a sauce pun or double boiler m is together the m ustard, salt, sugar and unbeaten eggs o r egg yolks. S tir u n til smooth. Add cream and vinegar, and cook u n t il it is smooth and thickened and th»» custard coats the spoon. Add soaked gelatin and s tir; when gelatin is dissolv«*d, pour the d is ta n t over the crab meat. T u rn in to a ring mold and c h ill. PICNIC RECEPTION. A picnic and reception was g iv en by members o f the Methodist church and friends fo r th e ir new pastor and w ife, the Rev. and Mrs. W. A. Briggs. F rid ay evening at the c ity park. Mrs. Earl Cone was toast mistress. S. L. M ackin gave the welcome address fo r the church as a whole and Mrs. N. E.
