lators nave been well paid for at­
tending a legislative session. Mem­
bers coming from far parts of the
state got mileage coming and go­
ing. although few returned home
between sessions. A number receiv­
ed allowances of around $150 for
mileage and $15 for the five days
they served. A hundred and sixty-
five dollars for a w eek s work Is
not bad these days.

whether or not he will veto the
special session bill which elim inates
the property tax or expenses of
state governm ent The chief execu­
tive Is on the spot so far as this
