(Special to The Sentinel.) May 11.—Mr. and Mrs. William Wells have rented their place for the summer to Victor Shaw of the Grove. They will spend the summer in Kansas. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Beard, Mrs. Mamie Spaugh and Miss Geraldine Spaugh of Eugene visited Sunday at the home of Mrs. Spaugh's aunt, Mrs. Amanda Sears. Joe Johnson of Woodard’s mill spent Sunday at the home of his brother, Clarence Johnson. Mrs. Charles Bales, who has been seriously ill with tho measles, is improving. Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Dunnivan of Cottage Grove spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Cooley. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Frost of Blue Mountain spent Saturday eve ning at the W. D. Heath home. Mrs. Elizabeth Shide visited Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bales. Miss ßarah Riley of the Grove spent the week end with her sis ter, Miss Laura Riley. Mr. Brocklesby of Lorane visited one day last week at tho Clarence Johnson and Thomas Lambkin homes. Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Heath vis- ited Sunday at Walker with their daughter, Mrs. John Wright. Frank Miller of Thornton Corners is employed at the Mrs. Amanda Sears home. Clarence Johnson is building a home at Lorane for his wife’» father, Mr. Eiling. CULP CREEK. (Special to The Sentinel.) May 10.—A slight fall of snow is reported in the Bohemia mining district. About five inches of "the beautiful” fell at the Muaick mine. Bert Clino, associated with John Smith in the operation of the Muaick mine, returned to the dis trict Saturday. He was accom panied by his wife and son. The preliminary right of way work on the highway from Dorena to Disston, under direction of Supervisor Loren Hunt, is now near completion, and construction ci the new grade is in progress.
