25—(Special.)—Miracles related in

were as dead as the proverbial
salted mackerel, while today they
are as lively as an eel in hot water.
They were dead and had been
safely put away. Nevertheless ana

the business of the session and
apparently are none tho worse for
their premature interment.

fact, it soenis that they have a
better chance for final passage
right now than at any time during
their fight for life before military
affairs and ways and moans com­

simple method of taking them up
regardless of tho unfavorable re­
port of the great finance commit­
tee.
There is no reason on the
face of the green earth—particular­
ly is there no reason to be found
hero—why the session can’t enact
the bills, the funds to be provided
when they aro available. If the
revenue bills produce what thoy are
expected to produce, funds might
be available in tho near future.

The LnGrande and Forest Grove
armory bills popped their heads
up this forenoon in the house,
their authors having taken the pre­
caution to see that their burial
was merely in the rubbish in tho

the senate to participate in the
vaudeville there. Meanwhile, Sena­
tor Magladry, who had withdrawn
his Cottage Grove armory bill, has­
tened to have the military affairs
committee of the senate introduce
another bill carrying tho $30,000
appropriation for Cottago Grove.
This bill was passed along to third
reading and then laid on the table
and the plan seems to be to put
this up for passage along with
the house bills for the Forest Gr ive
and LaGrande armories.

net favorably upon tho Cottago
Grove appropriation in case the
senate acts favorably.
What the governor will do about
it should the bills be presented
for his signature is problematical,
