THURSDAY, OCTOBER 3, 2019 Cindy Lund Oct. 24, 1956 - Sept. 18, 2019 Cindy Lund, loving wife and mother of two chil- dren, passed away peace- fully at home on Sept. 18, 2019, at the age of 62, due to complications of early Alzheimer’s. Cindy was born on Oct. 4,1956 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Being an “Army Brat,” she moved around a lot early in life, with her family eventu- ally settling in the Los Angeles area. She earned her associate’s degree in English at Los Angeles Valley College in 1987. She was well-known for her beautiful smile, great sense of humor, blue eyes and curly blonde hair. Cindy was in the food service industry for over 45 years. Among her many jobs in food service, THE CHRONICLE — 5 OBITUARIES she was the manager of the “old” Creswell Dairy Queen for over five years; manager of TJ’s Family Restaurant and The Koffee Kup for a few years; and manager of Carson Dining at the University of Oregon for over 12 years. She moved to Creswell in July 1988 and met Jon in September 1989. They were married on Jan. 1, 1994 in their home on East Cloverdale Road. They raised two children together, Wes Cipriotti and Shelby Lund. Ci ndy loved goi ng o n r o a d t r ip s w it h her husband in their Volkswagon van. She especially loved Sunset Bay on the Oregon Coast. She loved big trees, the sky and being outdoors. Cindy was also a lover of music and attended several concerts every year with her husband. Cindy is survived by her husband, Jon; son, Wes; daughter, Shelby; mother, Rose; sister, Luanne; brother, Don Jr.; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Don DeGraffenreid Sr. The Columbarium at Creswell Pioneer Cemetery is located just west of town. Fran was born on Oct. 22, 1927 in Oa k la nd, California to Arthur and Alta (Thomas) Lobingier. She received her bache- lor’s degree in English and a master’s degree in educa- tion. She raised three children with her fi rst husband, John Bassett, but later divorced. She married Paul Boehner in 1979, and they lived in Cottage Grove until her passing. Fran had a passion for education, and she was very active socially and politically; she was always championing the under- dog and doing everything in her power to help those less fortunate than herself. She was a longtime member of the League of Women Voters, and devoted many years of her life to encour- aging women and minori- ties to register and to vote. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, friend, educa- tor, activist, philanthropist and mentor, and she will be greatly missed. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Paul; her three children, Lyn, Jagat Joti and Nancy; and two grandchildren, Vanessa and Gabriel. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5 at Smith- Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel, 123 S. 7th St., Cottage Grove, Arrangements in the care of Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel. Allen Stanley Bradshaw June 6, 1937 - Sept. 23, 2019 Allen Stanley Bradshaw was taken home when his heart stopped beating on Monday, Sept. 23, 2019. Born to Milton Bert Bradshaw and Mildred Bernice Bain on June 6, 1937, in Medford, Oregon, Allen spent his younger years growing up in Klamath Falls and Oakridge. He later moved to Creswell in 1955, where he resided for 44 years. In high school, he was chosen senior prom king and was awarded the district offensive and defensive football player of the year in 1957. Allen worked for Cone Lumber Company on the green chain and as a debarker in Goshen for 14 years. Afterward, he went on to start his own land- scaping business where he worked for 30 years until he retired in 2003. Allen has been married to his sweetheart, Mary Kay Lozier, for the last 52 years and they raised four children together: Kathryn Bradshaw, Tamra Bilderback (Pratt), Susan Bilderback (Cummings) and Richard Bradshaw. Daughter Anita Bilderback preceded him in death. Up o n r e t i r e m e nt, Allen and Mary moved to Troutdale, where they resided for the last 16 years. He attended the Good Shepherd Church for 13 years and volunteered at the Salvation Army twice a week. Allen had the ability to work hard and loved a great many things. He was a particularly avid University of Oregon foot- ball fan, old car enthusi- ast, regular Timpanogos Stor ytelling Festival attendee, master gardener and a deeply religious man. He was a dedicated cheerleader during his children’s and grandchil- dren’s sporting events and cultural performances. We will miss our happy- go-lucky father, who was quick to make jokes about his own shortness, bald- ness and quirky ways. The funeral was held on Sept. 27 at Musgrove Mortuaries. Mark Louis Johnson Richard Howard Coomler July 24,1961 – Sept. 20, 2019 April 23, 1939 - Sept. 18, 2019 Mark Louis Johnson, 58, of Creswell, Oregon, died Friday, Sept. 20, 2019 at his home. He was born on July 24,1961 in Astoria, Oregon to Gloria Jean Parker and Robert Reginald Johnson. He grew up in in Corvallis with his mother until the age of 7, when he moved to Syracuse, New York to live with his father. Mark enlisted in the United States Coast Guard in 1979 and served for two years. After leaving the service, Mark traveled around the coun- try doing various odd jobs. He met and married his fi rst wife, Debra White, in 1982. Mark and Debra had a son, Clinton, before separating. Mark then went to college in Syracuse for a degree in computer science, where he met his soon-to-be wife Andrea Jane (Oakley) Johnson. They were married on Dec. 27, 1987 in Syracuse. They had two daughters together and were married for 33 years. Mark and his family moved to Creswell in 1996 to run a local garbage company, P&J Disposal. Mark and Andrea owned and operated the business together for 16 years. When Mark was able, he greatly enjoyed work- ing with local kids. He coached a summer league softball team for eight years, was an assistant coach for the high school softball team, was at every sporting event his active daughters had, and was chaperone for every school event he could. Mark’s greatest joy in life was being a father and watching his chil- dren grow, and becoming a grandfather and instill- ing his knowledge in his grandchildren. His is survived by his wife, Andrea; his son, Clinton Grim; his two daughters, Ashley (Aaron) Kilday and Caitlin (Zac) Lober; his grandchildren, Caidence Grace and Seth Louis; his mother; and six siblings. Richard Howard Coomler, 80, of Cottage Grove, Oregon, passed away on Sept. 18, 2019 in Eugene. He was born April 23, 1939 in Silverton to parents Howard Henry Coomler and Hazel Jeanette (McCullock) Coomler. Richard graduated from Cottage Grove High School in ‘57 and joined the National Guard while still in high school. He married Shirley Morgan in ’57; they had four children together. Richard went to work for the Bohemia Lumber Company at Culp Creek in ‘58 as a sheet turner at the plywood mill and, at age 23, went on the become the youngest foreman that Bohemia Lumber had ever had. He was promoted to plywood manager, then plant manager and is remembered for working diligently on behalf of the company and to benefi t all of its employees. After the Culp Creek plant closed, Richard went to work for the Bohemia laminated beam plant in Vaughn, Ore. and later for the Springfi eld plant as a supervisor until his retirement. Richard was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fi shing – partic- ularly at his cabin on the Deschutes River – and spending time with his friends and family. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge in Bend. Richard was an Oregon Ducks fan and enjoyed attending local games. He met his partner, Maxine, in August ‘03, and they spent years together building a beautiful home overlooking the sea of Cortez in Baja, Calif., where they enjoyed fi shing, kayaking and spending time with friends. Richard is survived by his longtime partner, Maxine Weiss; daughters, Darla Compton of Eugene, Vickie Hill of Roseburg; and son, Douglas Coomler of Reno, Nevada; sister, Diane Berg of Salinas, Calif; brother, David Coomler of Portland; niece, Tafi Sherrill; nine grandchil- dren; and nine great-grand- children. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Jeanette Coomler; his daugh- ter, Dawn McGeHee; and his sister, Kristi Sherrill. The family will have a private visitation from 9 to 9:30 a.m., preceding a 10 a.m. funeral service, on Saturday, Oct. 5 at Smith- Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel in Cottage Grove, with recep- tion to follow.
