Bridge Street Bits By Karen Miller TALK ABOUT BRAIN EXERCISING, my head was swelling with all the impressive information I was taking in while chatting with KELLY JARMAN, our Senior Center Certified Personal Trainer, who comes to our building twice a week, Mondays and Wednesdays. She leads, along with helper MARGARET BROWN, a fun-filled, co-ed class that can’t wait to meet the next time, judging from all the laughter and interaction emanating from our exercise room. Kelly specializes in balance, memory, flexibility, stretching, using light weights, and brain games during these classes and also is certified in working with seniors with Parkinson’s and light strokes, holding a certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine qualifying her to work with people of all ages. So rest assured Kelly means it when she says “We want you here for fun and interaction!” Pop in at 10:30 on those days and hear about other class options as well. AH YES, THERE’S NOTHING PUZZLING about what goes on around here. Well, unless you try to out-time some of our seniors like PAT RAY and our puzzle races. We have some sharp senior brains that participate in Kelly’s classes and her brain games! THANKS TO ALL WHO DONATE AND PATRONIZE OUR BARGAINS ON BRIDGE STREET THRIFT STORE.
