10 community july19 2018 Archery Tournament for All Ages Near Corvallis – Register by July 30 ODFW will host the second annual S3DA Triple Crown archery tournament August 4 at the Archery Park, EE Wilson Wildlife Area (2955 Camp Adair Rd, Monmouth). The competition is open to all ages and the cost is $10, payable by cash or check on site at the event. Participants need to bring their own equipment (no broadheads or cross- bows) and will shoot in three different formats: indoor target, outdoor target, and 3D. Mandatory check-in for all participants will be at 9:00 am and shooting will begin at 10:00 am. A wildlife area parking per- mit ($10 and included with purchase of all 2018 hunting licenses) is also re- quired to park at EE Wilson Wildlife Area. “This will be a fun compe- tition opportunity for families and friends, and a chance to experience a piece of Scholastic 3-D Archery (S3DA), a youth program in Oregon that provides intermediate archery opportunities,” says Miranda Leek, ODFW Archery Education Coordina- tor. “Hunters or target shooters, be- ginner or advanced—all are welcome at this shoot!” People of all ages can partici- pate, though they should have some prior archery experience. The compe- tition age categories are under 7, 8-11, 12-14, 15-18, and 19 and older. The dogs played soccer, football, baseball, basketball, and frisbee, and even visited with the kids in the audience. The program was sponsored by the VHS Community 101 grant and the Vernonia Library.
