Terrance E. “Terry” Rockwood Correction Leslie Wynn Forcier Leslie (Les) Wynn Forcier, 68, a resident of Banks, OR, passed away at home while surrounded by family on June 4, 2017 after a long fight with melanoma. Les graduated from Ver- Terrance Eugene “Terry” Rock- wood, 67, a resident of the Vernonia community, died Wednesday, April 16, 2018 at his home. Private Cremation Rites were held at the Hoyt Crematory in Forest Grove. A Celebration of Life was held at the Grace Family Fellowship Church in Vernonia on Saturday, June 2, 2018. Terrance Eugene “Terry” Rock- wood was born December 6, 1950 in Hoquiam, Washington, the son of the late Ernest Rockwood and Clara Florence (Ellington) Rockwood. He was raised and received his education in the Port- land area, graduating from Jackson High School in 1969. Terry served two years in the U.S. Navy following his high school graduation and attended Portland Com- munity College. Terry was united in marriage to Diana Lynne (Habecker) Erickson on April 24, 2010 at the Foursquare Church in Vernonia, Oregon. They celebrated their 8 th wedding anniversary this past April. Following their marriage, they continued to reside in Vernonia. Terry had worked as a machinist, until he retired. His special interests included playing his guitar, riding his motorcycle, camping, and especially working in his yard. Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Clara Rockwood; and his two brothers, Dale Rockwood and Michael Rockwood. Survivors include his wife Diana Rockwood of the family home in Verno- nia; his three children/step-children and their spouses, Angela and Charles Mum- ford of Berlin, Maryland, Lane and Chel- sea Erickson of Sheridan, Oregon, and Anna Mullins of Vernonia. Also surviving are his brother and sister-in-law Pat and Sharon Rock- wood of Vernonia; his sister and brother- in-law Diana and Don Hennig of Scap- poose; his five grandchildren; one great- grandchild; and several nieces and neph- ews. The family suggests that re- membrances may be contributions to the American Cancer Society, 0330 SW Curry St, Portland, OR 97239, in his memory. James O. “Jim” Gipson James Otis “Jim” Gipson, 85, a longtime resident of the Seaside com- munity, died Monday morning, May 14, 2018 at the Brookdale Forest Grove As- sisted Living Center. Private Cremation Rites were held at the Hoyt Crematory in Forest Grove. James Otis Gipson was born July 26, 1932 in Portland, the son of Otis Gipson and Edna Gipson. He was raised in Portland, until the age of seven when he moved with his family to the Seaside community, where he was raised and re- ceived his education, having been a grad- uate of the Seaside High School Class of 1950. He and his wife, Sadie Ray Miller (Golden) of Vernonia, had cel- ebrated being together for the past fifty- one years, this past November. They had made their home in the Seaside commu- nity for many years. They had wintered in Surprise, Arizona, for the past fifteen years. Jim had worked as a longshore- man in Astoria for many years until he retired. He was a member of the Interna- tional Longshore and Warehouse Union Local #50 and the Seaside Elks Lodge B.P.O.E. # 1748. He was Honorably Discharged from the National Guard on October 5, 1952. Among his special interests he enjoyed going to garage sales and antique cars, especially attending car shows. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Otis and Edna Gipson and his brother, Ed Gipson. Survivors include his wife Sadie Gipson of the family home in Seaside and his son Christopher Gipson of Asto- ria. Also surviving is his grand- daughter Christa Gipson of Astoria; and his five nieces and nephews, Gordon “Eddie” and Natalie Gipson and their two sons Dylan Gipson and Jack Gipson all of Keizer, Oregon, Shirley and Rod- ney Vermeire of Oregon City, Steven and Ann Potter of Vernonia, Stuart Potter of Vernonia, and Sam and Dianna Potter of Vernonia. Lewison Margaret Lewison, 80, of Viro- qua, Wisconson died April 21, 2018. Margaret Caroline (Buckley) Lewison was born on July 5, 1937 in Portland, Oregon to Carroll and Alice (Rhea) Buckley. She graduated from Vernonia High School and attended Or- egon State College. She married her husband Connie Lewison in Vancouver, Washington on January 7, 1967. They moved to Wisconsin in 1968. Margaret chose to be a stay at home mom and farm wife. She grew to love the Holstein cattle they raised. Be- ing at home allowed her to volunteer with Girl Scouts, Sunday School, Vernon County Holstein Association and 4-H. She liked to bowl and spent hours baking and cooking. After her kids were grown she worked at ORC Industries in Westby, Wisconsin. She loved attending Viro- qua High School basketball and baseball games. She is survived by her husband Conrad; son Brian of Owen, Wisconsin, daughter Leslie (and her husband Jeff) of Westby; sister Donna Shannon; sisters- in-law Dorthy Gillette and Sue Lewison; brother-in-law David (Miriam) Lewison; nieces, nephews, and cousins, including her special cousin Mitch (Tag) Ashbeck.
