in other words september7 2017 13 Your Horoscope for September 2017 and steer clear of addictive sub- stances. Even if you are popu- lar, not everyone loves you. Watch your back. By Stacey Lynn A month full of ambi- tions and desire, but many will have to wade through criticism and nitpickiness. Virgo (August 22-September 21) You got it babe! The ener- gy you exude makes you come across as very sexy, but beware the choices you make. Do not idealize your better half. True satisfaction comes September 20th. At work focus on what you have to do and get serious. Do something about extra en- ergy. Set goals and go for it! Libra (September 22-Octo- ber 22) It may be best to flirt this month and get more serious later on. Serious relationships will have stumbling blocks or unpleasantness. Team work and diplomacy bring the best results. Avoid overindulging Scorpio (October 23-Novem- ber 21) You may be attracted to persons with status. Perhaps you want a relationship that can help you socially. This time is very connected to collective projects and events. Financial- ly, it is a good time to increase funds. You do not have time to be ill, but if you have a pre- existing issue, watch it. Ask and you shall receive! Sagittarius (November 22- December 20) A turning point in a 3-month long cycle. You analyze aspects related to love, social ties or even mental com- patibility. You have wind in your sails, steer well and you will go places. The month is de- manding and you will perform best if you get actual rest. Stand out, stand up for your rights and fulfill your goals! Capricorn (December 21- January 19) Your love life is more about depth. The more you know, the deeper you go, the better. Throughout the month studies, spiritual- ity, and journeys are demand- ing and meaningful. Success is more visible the last week of the month. Improving stamina and morale occur after the 5th. Learn relaxation techniques and practice regularly. Aquarius (January 20-Feb- ruary 18) Amorous offers are many, seductive powers grow and love finds its way to you easier now. A financial month. People that influence your money, financial institutions or inheritance, may play a signifi- cant role now. Relax and do not feed fears or imagined issues. Avoid rushing and impulsive- ness in financial decisions. Pisces (February 19-March 20) Love life is connected to work or work-like responsibili- ties. A bit of commotion gener- ates passion and the need to act fast and decisively. You may have to choose between op- tions. Ties with others have a significant impact on career and income. Keep it as friendly as possible. Do not let all respon- sibilities rest on your shoulders. Take care of yourself! Aries (March 21-April 19) This is the best month of the year for love, dear Aries. Es- pecially in the first two weeks, something memorable will hap- pen! You can achieve at work, but you will have to check facts to create something lasting. Take your health into your own hands. Put your priorities in or- der, delegate responsibilities... one thing at a time. Taurus (April 20-May 21) You may find you are wanting to fall in Love. A great time to explore fantasies, but they may be sim- ply that. This could cause you problems later on. Do not allow these desires to affect your work or wallet. An excellent time for working out. Steer clear of ex- cesses. Do not expect the sup- port of others, rely on yourself. Gemini (May 22-June 21) The planets urge steady connections rather than careless flirts. Love, not backed by serious inten- tions, will be unsatisfying and can create complications. Work is intense. Best time for success is the last week of the month. Silly accidents may befall you. Try to prevent unpleasantness within your home or with par- ents. Cancer (June 22-July 21) Emotions are connected to communication, travel or an in- tellectual pursuit. You may even be interested in two people at once. Work may include a se- ries of meetings or travel. The last week of the month carries the most success. Cancers are a bit stressed. Take short breaks to relax mentally. Take a class, learn something new. Leo (July 22-August 21) Your charm is at a high, life is full of possibilities. Also, there is suc- cess, prestige and control over your professional life. To come out a winner, you must weigh your options well. From the 5th-22nd, a tendency toward risk or excess may expose you to danger. Set money aside and do not look for easy gains. Is it Time to Consider an Electric Car? By Nick Galaday Some FAQs: How long does it take to recharge? Keep in mind you never arrive at a charging station completely drained, and you start each day with a “full tank.” Here is a guide for how long charging takes for an average EV at 3.9 miles/kwh: • At home in your garage at “Level 2” (220 Volts), you can charge at the rate of approximately 25 - 30 miles of range per hour of charge time. (7.2 kwh/hour). A Nissan Leaf fully charges in 4.2 hours. • At a public “Level 3” fast charge charging station, one can charge at the rate of 180 - 200 miles range per hour of charge time, limited by battery size. A Nissan Leaf charges 80% in 23 minutes. • At any standard 120-volt outlet (level 1), while visiting friends or while at work, you can pick up an “opportunity charge” from any outlet at the rate of 12 - 15 miles range per hour of charge time. How far can I go between charges? Obviously, day/night, summer/winter, weather, heater/defroster, headlights, wipers, weight of right shoe, and any number of other variables affect these numbers: • Nissan Leaf: 117 miles on 30 kwh, 3.9 miles/kwh • BMW i3: 137 miles on 30 kwh, 4.57 miles/kwh (really!) • Chevy Bolt: 238 miles on 60 kwh, 3.97 miles/kwh • Tesla S-75D 275 miles on 75 kwh, 3.67 miles/kwh • Tesla S-100D 351 miles on 100 kwh, 3.51 miles/kwh How much does it cost to drive electrically? Presently, here in the WOEC service territory, our marginal cost for electricity is 14.7¢ per KWH. So, your Chevy Bolt will cost around 3.7¢/mile to operate (3.97 miles/kwh). To compare, a Toyota Corolla, at 32 mpg and $2.50/gallon, costs 7.8¢/mile. Driving electrically, even here in WOEC-land, costs less than half what it costs to operate even a very economical gasoline powered car. Or, to look at it another way, WOEC is selling motor fuel for the equivalent of $1.25/gallon! Additionally, the reduced maintenance requirement (no oil changes, no tune-ups, no belts or filters, less brake wear) provides even more savings. Where can I get an Electric Car? You can view and schedule a test drive in a Chevy Bolt, Ford C-Max Energi (plug-in hybrid), or Nissan Leaf at the “Go Forth Electric Showcase,” located in the World Trade Center at 901 SW 1st Ave., Portland, OR 97204.
