Sandy also enjoyed canning, baking and mak- ing special candies for friends and family. Her love of country music found her at many concerts and festivals. She also enjoyed cro- cheting and making many hand made gifts for loved ones. Sandy enjoyed spending time with her Sandy May Sohler Sandy May Sohler, 52, passed away July 30, 2017 peacefully in her sleep at her home in Rainier, Oregon. She was born July 24, 1965 in Eugene, Or- egon to James and Ruby Morrison. In her early years she lived and at- tend school in Hillsboro, Oregon, later completing her schooling in Eugene at Sheldon High School. In 1987 she married Mike Sohler. They made their home in Vernonia, where they raised two children, Christina and Dillon. Sandy and Mike later divorced. Sandy loved to cook and feed people. She worked as a cook for many years at Cedar Ridge Sports Camp, Jew- ell School, Washington County Jail, and Intel, to name a few. After leaving Ver- nonia she took her dream trip to Alaska and worked for Trident. Upon returning she relocated to Rainier, Oregon where she was caring for her granddaughters Eron and Tristin Sohler. Most recently she got her CDL and was driving bus for the Rainier School District. Sandy loved spending time do- ing anything outdoors. She loved to fish, clam dig, garden and camp, recently FOR SALE family. She was preceded in death by her mother Ruby Roach Morrison. She is survived by daughter Chris- tina Torres and Marcus Torres of Vancou- ver, Washington; son Dillon Sohler of Vernonia; mother and father James and Katherine Morrison of Prescott, Oregon; siblings Theresa Morrison Hubbard and Louie Hubbard of Salem, Oregon, Steve Morrison of Oregon City, Oregon, Jim and Tracy Morrison of Vernonia, Brandy Morrison and Steve Lindahl of Prescott, Oregon; grandchildren Eron and Tristin Sohler, Hunter Budlong and Armon Tor- res; and also many nieces and nephews who she loved very much. Sandy will be deeply missed. Services were held on August 5 at 4:00 pm at the Rainier Community Church of God. Brenda Lee Kelly Brenda Lee Kelly, 60, a resi- dent of the Vernonia community, died Friday morning, August 11, 2017 at her home. Private Cremation Rites were held at the Hoyt Crematory in Forest Grove. A Private Gathering will be held. Brenda Lee Kelly was born February 1, 1957 in Torrance, Califor- nia, the daughter of the late Theodore Joseph Vaughn and Betty (Sutherlin) Vaughn. She was raised and received her education in the Torrence com- munity, having been a graduate of the Torrence High School Class of 1975. Upon her high school graduation, she attended El Camino College in Tor- rence, California, having received an Associate Arts degree. She was united in marriage to Michael George Kelly on August 8, 2007 in Vernonia, Oregon. They cel- ebrated their 10th wedding anniversary this past August. Following their mar- riage they have made their home in the Vernonia community. Brenda had managed a lounge in Torrence, California and later in In- glewood, California. Among her special interests, she enjoyed playing poker and spend- ing time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ted and Betty Vaughn. Survivors include her husband Mike Kelly of the family home in Ver- nonia, Oregon; her daughter Shawna Lloyd of Hillsboro, Oregon; her son Joseph “Joe” Mulvey of Vernonia, Or- egon; her two brothers, David Vaughn of Vernonia, Oregon and Marshall Vaughn of Vernonia, Oregon; and her three sisters and a brother-in-law, Lin- da and Eric Gullickson of Grass Valley California, Kristina Toward of Grass Valley, Oregon and Sharon and Carl Turner of Magalia, California. Also surviving are her four grandchildren, Melissa Mulvey, Chris- topher Lloyd, Logan Morgan and Oliv- ia Lloyd, and several nieces and neph- ews. The family suggests that re- membrances may be contributions to the Toy and Joy Drive, c/o the Verno- nia Fire Department, 555 East Bridge Street, Vernonia, Oregon, 97064, in her memory.
