4 letters to the editor/community bulletin board july20 2017 Readers Lend Their Voices... To the Editor, Yesterday was Flag Day, and I was dressed in red, white and blue, as I drove downtown to run several errands. I was quite surprised, and also highly “miffed,” as I drove down the main street in town and did NOT see both sides of the street sporting the U. S. flag -- in fact, I saw only one flag in the entire business district. Usually, the national colors are proudly waving all day in the downtown core area of our town, on every Federal holiday, but I was told by a friend that they had not flown the flags last year, on Flag Day, either. I hadn’t been out driving around as much that year because I was still recuperating from an injury, so this was the first I knew of it. What has happened to the patriotism of this town, where we turn out to “parade” for every single holiday that’s ever been made up? Even though there’s no parade for Flag Day, the City should still be flying “Old Glory”! G. K. Nadia is about 2 years old and weighs about 60 lbs. She was recently returned back to the shelter. Nadia seems to like other dogs. She has a strong personality and does not appreciate being bossed around or dominated by other dogs. According to her previous owner she does not do great with cats and she does need to have some leash training and basic obedience training. She can be protective of her home and her family. Please note that our adoption kennels are not open to the public. If you would like to meet Nadia please don't hesitate to call the shelter and we would be happy to set up an appointment for you to come in and meet her. This girl is a show stopper for sure.
