Borden, 59, a longtime resident of the Hills- boro community, passed Thurs- day evening, June 22, 2017 at the Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland. Services have been held. Anita Lila Borden was born October 16, 1957 in Spo- kane, Washington, the daughter of Cecil Ernest Finch and the late Myrtle Mae Louise (Shaw) Finch. They celebrated their 13th wedding anniversary this past April. They had court- ed for thirteen years prior to their marriage date, thus being together for twenty-six years. Anita had worked as a supervisor for TVG Horse Rac- ing Network in Hillsboro for eighteen years, until ill health forced her to retire. She was a member of the East River Church in Hills- boro. Among her special in- terests she enjoyed outdoors, family, friends, and most of all helping others. Anita was preceded in death by her mother Myrtle Finch; her son Cody Carllson; and her two brothers Richard Finch and Ron Finch. Survivors include her loving husband Clayton Bor- den of the family home in Hill- sboro, Oregon; her five children and their spouses, Crystal and Michael Alton of Hillsboro, Oregon, Rick Pearo, Jr. of Hill- sboro, Oregon, Sara Pearo and her fiancé Brandin Johnson of Cornelius, Oregon, Clayton J. “C.J.” Borden, Jr. of Hillsboro, Oregon, and Cory Carllson of Hillsboro, Oregon; her daugh- ter-in-law Veronica Carllson of Hillsboro, Oregon; her father and step-mother Cecil and Glo- ria Finch of Spokane, Wash- ington; her three sisters and brothers-in-law, Celia Finch of Vernonia, Oregon, Betzy and James Johnson of Vernonia, Or- egon, and Betty and Dale Wells of Spokane, Washington; her brother and sister-in-law Tony and Mary Finch of Spokane, Washington; and her sister- in-law Sally Finch of Auburn, Washington. Also surviving are her ten grandchildren, Dustin Reyn- olds, Hailey Reynolds, Kait- lynn Carabajal, Kevin Skriiko, Micah Johnson, Klaire Borden, Blake Alton, Lidea Carllson, Jera Carllson, and Conrad Carll- son; her great-granddaughter Adilynn Reynolds; and many nieces and nephews. Baker, Jr. Karl A. Baker, Jr., a resident of the Vernonia com- munity, went home to his Lord and Savior Thursday evening, June 8, 2017 at his home. Services have been held. Karl A. Baker, Jr. was born on October 13, 1933 in Al- bany, New York, the son of Karl Arthur Baker, Sr. and Agnus Marjorie (Ring) Baker. He was a veteran of the Korean War. He lied about his age joining the United States Army on October 1, 1950 in Portland, Oregon at the age of 16. He served for two years until receiving his Honorable Discharge at the rank of Pri- vate First Class at the Beale Air Force Base in California. Karl was united in mar- riage to Delores M. Ayres on August 20, 1952 in Lovelock, Nevada. Following their mar- riage they made their home in Seattle, Washington. Karl and Delores joined the Overseas Mission- ary Fellowship and were sent to Japan to be missionaries in 1958. Karl and Delores re- turned to the United States in 1963 due to illness and lived in Portland, Oregon, Los Angeles California, Bellevue, Washing- ton, and Vernonia, Oregon. He was preceded in death by his wife Delores on November 26, 1999 after cel- ebrating over 47 years of mar- riage together, and his parents Karl Baker Sr. and Agnus M. (Ring) Bonnell. He received his Bach- elor of Theology from Mult- nomah School Of The Bible, and His Bachelor of Arts from Cascade College Among his special in- terests he enjoyed woodwork- ing, family and most of all teaching his Sunday School class. Survivors include his wife, Verna M. Baker, of Vernonia, Oregon; his sister Sue Lewellyn (Don); his son Stephen Baker (Charlene); his step-children Doug Mc- Cracken (Terri), Craig Strong (Shari), Carol Brusa (Bob), Bonnie Bronleewe (Sam), Debi Keithley (Frank). Also surviving are his 31 grandchildren; 33 great- grandchildren; 1 great great- grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
