He is the grandson to Don and Jennifer Soderback and Art and Tami Ragsdale. Vicky E. Crowston Pfc Jonathan Anderson, aka “Bubba,” graduated from basic training at the US Marine Corps recruit training depot in San Diego on September 20, 2013. Jonathon graduated in the honor platoon 1011, a part of Alpha company and immediately left for boot camp three weeks after. He is now at Camp Pendleton continuing his training and will then be placed in a new company. Jonathon is a VHS graduate, Class of 2013. He is the son of Rick and Lisa (Ragsdale) Hood and the brother to 10 Buildable Acres For Sale Vicky E. Crowston, 70, a resident of the Vernonia community, died Friday morning, November 8, 2013, at Tuality Community Hospital in Hillsboro. A Private Service was held at the Forest View Cemetery, 1161 W. Pacific Avenue in Forest Grove. VICKY ELIZABETH CROWSTON was born on March 18, 1943 in St. Helens, Oregon, the daughter of the late Frank and Elizabeth (Beeler) Serafin. When she was young she moved from the family farm to the Vernonia community where she was raised and received her education, having been a graduate with Vernonia High School Class of 1961. Upon her graduation she attended NW Business School in Portland. She was united in marriage to Lawrence Notestine. Following their marriage they made their home in the communities of Portland, the, San Francisco Bay Area, San Jose, San Carlos and San Mateo. While residing in the Bay Area, she worked as an Administrative Assistant for United Airlines for thirteen years. They later divorced. Vicky was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Crowston on October 17, 1977 in Vancouver, Washington. Following their marriage they made their home in the Vernonia community, where she has resided since. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob on December 16, 1993 after celebrating over sixteen years of marriage together. Throughout her lifetime, she had a special love for animals, rescuing and caring for many cats and dogs. She enjoyed caring for cats, “Mindy”, “Muffy”, “Patches”, “Stinky”, “Flash” and “Little” and her Shih Tzu, “Lady” as well as needle work and was an avid reader. Vicky is also preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Elizabeth Serafin; her infant son, Brad Lawrence Notestine and her brother, David Serafin. Survivors include her special friends, Summer Williams and Margy Prout, of Vernonia, Oregon and several cousins and nephews. Vicky wanted to thank all the women who served as her caregivers, helping her to stay in her own home.
