She is thoughtful and considerate of others and is conscien- tious about her schoolwork. Clarissa says her favorite subject is art and that she enjoys learning to draw. Clarissa is in Junior Girl Scouts and at home she helps take care of Sadie and Charlie, her two beagles. She also says she likes to collect rocks. Kaitlyn Eyrrick , Grade 8 Kaitlyn is very involved in numerous activities in and out of school. She says her favorite subject is Band, where she plays the clarinet. Kaitlyn is also involved in the Loggerbots-she was head of electorics. She is also involved in 4-H where she does food preservation, foods and nutrition, marine biology, fiber arts and also shows her English Angora rabbit and raises market rabbits. Kaitlyn plays volleyball and basketball and is involved in Girl Scouts. In her spare time Kaitlyn says she enjoys reading, drawing, riding her bike and taking care of all her animals. Samantha Wallace , Grade 12 Samantha is the Student Body President at Vernonia High School and is part of the Leadership class. She says her favorite subjects in school are math and science, especially biology. Samantha plans to attend Oregon State University next year and study bioengineering. She plays volleyball, basketball and softball. She also has a part time job working for P & C Construction in the summers. In her free time she likes to relax, go see movies or spend time outside with friends. Sponsored by Vernonia’s Voice Columbia Humane Society Featured Pet Onyx came to the shelter as a stray. He gets along well with "Onyx" other dogs and is going to make a great addition to any family. Onyx can be a little shy when you first get to know him, the more time you spend with him the more he warms up.
