Services were held on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Groulx Family Mortuary, 25381 Wonderly Road, Rainier, Oregon with Pastor Carolyn Bowers Officiating of the Rainier Methodist Church. Interment followed at Mist Cemetery, Mist, Oregon. Groulx Family Mortuary in charge of arrangements. Autumn C. “Candy” Waldrop, Bertha Louise Oblack (Feist) of Vernonia, Oregon passed away at her home February 1, 2013. Bertha was born August 5th, 1914 in Clatskanie, Oregon to Reed and Annie Holding. She graduated from Clatskanie High School in 1933. Bertha married Max Oblack on December 21, 1935 at Kelso, Washington. They spent their married life on their farm in the Vernonia area, except for 5 years on a farm at Molalla, Oregon. Bertha and Max had 2 children, 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren. Max passed away November 3, 1986. Bertha was preceded in death by her brother George Holding who passed away in 2009, also, three grandchildren, Larry Oblack Jr., in 2008, Robert Shrum in 2008 and Lynette Rodd in 2010. Bertha was a member of the Clatskanie American Legion, Louis Larsen Auxiliary Post #68 for many years. She served on an observation post during World War II in Mollala watching for enemy aircraft. Bertha was also a member of the United Methodist Church in Clatskanie, the Natal Grange and Mist Helping Circle. Bertha married Joseph Feist in 1999. Joseph passed away in 2009. Bertha is survived by her son and daughter in law, Larry and Claudia Oblack, her daughter and son in law Maxine and John Stark, several nieces february21 2013 others and caring for her cats, “Tackoya” and” Ebbony”. Survivors include her husband, Gerald Neil “Gerry” Waldrop, of the family home in Vernonia, Oregon, her parents, David and Mary Bailey, of Medford, Oregon and her two sisters, Paris Bailey, of Medford, Oregon and Hiedei Bailey, of Medford, Oregon. Also surviving is her niece, Saoirse Chloe Bailey-McGuire and her aunts and uncles, Polly and Jim Bailey, and Sheila and Rodney Bailey, all of Medford, Oregon. The family suggests that remembrances may be contributions to the Bonnie L. Hays Small Animal Shelter, 1901 SE 24th Avenue, Hillsboro, OR 97123, in her memory. AUTUMN CANDICE BAILEY “CANDY” WALDROP was born on August 29, 1981 in Medford, Oregon, they daughter of David L. and Mary C. (Johnson) Bailey. She was raised and received her education in the Medford community, having been a graduate with North Medford High School Class of 2000. She was united in marriage to Gerald Neil “Gerry” Waldrop on February 17, 2002 in Reno, Nevada. They would have celebrated their eleventh wedding anniversary this February. Following their marriage, they made their home in the community of Yuma, Arizona while Gerry served in the military. They later resided in the communities of Medford and Hillsboro, before making their home in the Vernonia community in 2005, where they have resided since. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. Private Cremation Rites have been held at Hoyt Crematory in Forest Grove. JOSEPH LEE “JOE” FULGHAM was born March 2, 1970 in Phoenix, Arizona, the son of Leroy and Christine (Franks) Fulgham. He was raised and received his early education in 17 the Phoenix community, until moving to Fort Meade, Florida where he graduated from Fort Meade High School with the Class of 1988. Joe worked as a manager at Texaco Gas Station (later becoming Shell Gas Station) in Hillsboro, Oregon until 2005 when he retired due to health reasons. He was united in marriage to Tylee Rae Alford on May 15, 2004 in North Plains, Oregon. Following their marriage they made their home in Vernonia, Oregon for a short time prior to moving to the Cornelius community where Joe has since resided. Joe and Tylee celebrated their eight year wedding anniversary this past May. Among his special interests he enjoyed wrestling, making model rockets and loved his Bassett Hound, “Jasper.” Survivors include his wife, Tylee Fulgham of Cornelius, Oregon; his mother, Christine Fulgham of Phoenix, Arizona; his sisters and brothers in law, Bonnie Albritton of Louisville, Kentucky, Diane and Ralph Quinn of Nyssa, Oregon, Linda and Jose Cardenas of Asheboro, North Carolina and Andrea and John Martin of Houston, Texas. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. The family suggests that contributions be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 465 NE 181st Street, Suite 257, Portland, Oregon 97230, in his memory.
