20 obituaries/classified ads june12 2012 In Memory of... Jacob B. Levenseller Jacob B. Levenseller, 18, a resident of the Vernonia community, died Tuesday, June 5, 2012. A Celebration of Life Service was held on Friday, June 8, 2012 at 3:00 PM at the Vernonia High School Gymnasium, 299 Bridge Street in Vernonia , Oregon, with Marc Farmer, Branch President, presiding and Dr. Ken Cox, of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Vernonia, conducting. Jacob Bruce Levenseller was born November 2, 1993 in The Dalles, Oregon, the son of Brandon Scott Levenseller and Carilee JoAnne (Sexton) Levenseller. He was raised and received his education in the Vernonia community, having graduated this past week from the Vernonia High School Class of 2012. Among his special interests he enjoyed panning for gold, writing, singing hymns, wrestling and spending time with his family. Survivors include his mother and step-father, Carilee J. “Cari” Levenseller and Michael Roberts, of the family home in Vernonia, OR; his father and step-mother, Brandon S. and Soni Levenseller, of Beaverton, OR; his three sisters, Tricia Levenseller, Rebecca “Becki” Levenseller and Alisa Levenseller; his one brother, Johnathan Levenseller all of Vernonia, OR; his grandparents, Bruce and Patricia Sexton, of Nyssa, OR and Philip and Jacqueline Levenseller, of Silverdale, WA and many aunts, uncles, cousins and step-siblings. The family suggests that remembrances may be contributions to the Vernonia Education Foundation or the Vernonia Wrestling Team c/o Vernonia District Office, 475 Bridge Street, Vernonia, OR 97064, in his memory. Herlene Robertson Herlene Robertson, a former longtime resident of the Vernonia community and as of late, the Beaverton community, passed away Tuesday afternoon, May 15, 2012 at the Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Portland, Oregon at the age of 86. A Celebration of Life Service was held on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at 1:00 PM at the Vernonia Christian Church, 410 North Street in Vernonia, Oregon, with Pastor John J. Cahill of the Pioneer Baptist Church officiating. Concluding Rites and Interment followed at the Vernonia Memorial Cemetery, 2080 Bridge Street. Family and friends were invited to attend a reception immediately following the cemetery rites, held in the fellowship room of the church. Herlene Robertson was born December 25, 1925, the daughter of the late Florney and Lula Bell Johnson Thrasher in Louisville, Mississippi, where she was raised and received her TUALATIN VALLEY education. Herlene moved to Beaverton, Oregon in 2006 where she was a resident at the Edgewood Downs Retirement Center for the last 1 ½ years. Herlene was preceded in death by her husband Ray on May 19, 1984 in Portland, OR. They had celebrated over forty-one years in marriage. She was also preceded in death by her step-father James Kinard; three brothers, James, Freeman and David Thrasher; two sisters, Lou Grote and Louise Richardson; half brother Patton Thrasher; two half sisters, Lizzie Bonds and Irene Cook, and daughter Patricia Crowston. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Glenda and Jack Holsey, Hillsboro, OR; son-in-law, Marv Crowston, Bay City, OR; two sons and daughter-in-law, Donald Robertson, Aloha, OR and Allen and Angie Robertson, Beaverton, OR. Also surviving are her eight grandchildren and their spouses, Kerry Crowtson, Mill City, OR; Kyle and Traci Crowston, Camas, WA; Darren and Lisa Holsey, Wilsonville, OR; Christopher and Amber Holsey, Portland, OR; Tracey and Rob Wade, Orange, CA; Michael Robertson, Phoenix, AZ; Krissy Robertson, Beaverton, OR; Jamie and Stephanie Robertson, Portland, OR; eight great grandchildren, Genna , Josie and Savannah Crowston, Reese and Zak Holsey, Emma, Lilly and Carter Wade, and Xander Robertson; many nieces and nephews; two brother-in-laws, Jimmy Richardson, Clarksdale, MS and Dave Grote, Las Vegas, NV; three sister-in- laws, Jean Thrasher, Monroe, LA, Sylvia Thrasher, Garden City, NJ and Lorene Thrasher, Columbus, MS.
