VHS Band Wins League, Qualifies for State
The Vernonia High School Band
won the Northwest League Band Festival
on March 8, 2012 and has qualified for the
State Contest in May.
According to Band Instructor Rob
Izzett, the VHS Band received scores of
85, 86, and 87, which was higher than any
other school, including 3A schools at the
competition. This was a big improvement
over the previous year when VHS was
chosen to attend State from a pool based
on receiving two scores of 75.
In addition, several weeks ago a
number of Vernonia High School students
competed at the district #3 solo/ensemble
