Booster’s Buzz
Baseball—Vernonia Baseball would
like to thank everyone that helped with
the fireworks booth this year. Our
fundraiser was a big success and would
not have been possible without the many
hours of volunteer time that so many
people gave! A special thanks to public
works for hanging our sign and to Brooke
Morrison for taking the responsibility
to load and unload all of the fireworks
each day! Congratulations go out to
Jenny Glass for winning the drawing
of the American Pride firework pack.
The pack was worth about $200.00!
Congrats Jenny.
And finally a big thanks to Dick Titus for
the use of his downtown property where
we set up the booth!
The Midgets and Juniors are
both getting close to the end of their
regular season and are headed to the

county tournaments. It has been a great
season for all the boys--good luck at
county.
The Juniors have been holding
games out at the new Titus Field. The
field is still a work in progress, but we
are so thankful for everyone that once
again has volunteered their time to work
on the field. Baseball season is almost
over, but those fields still need attention.
We are hoping to plan some work days
after the season’s end to begin preparing
for next year’s baseball season. Thanks
again Vernonia Baseball Supporters!
Soccer—It’s fall registration time for
Vernonia Youth Soccer!
Vernonia Youth Soccer will have
two evenings of signup opportunities for
our budding soccer players. July 12 th
and July 14 th from 5-7pm at the Vernonia
Library.
With the changes last year in
how we manage uniforms things are
simpler. All players, parents, coaches
and board members are required to sign
a code of conduct that matches with the
Booster Organization. So come on by
and sign up for Fall fun. Practices start
mid-August and U10/12 games start
shortly after school resumes.
Check out our Facebook page: Vernonia
Youth Soccer.
Costs for signups, which includes
insurance and league operational costs
are as follows: U6--$40, U8 and up--$50.
Cost for uniforms, if needed, is $20, and
includes a jersey, shorts and socks. Ages
brackets are based on children’s age on/
before July 31, 2011
