This is a public letter to Willow
Burch and Marilyn Nicks.
“You can fool some of the people all of
the time and all of the people some of
the time, but you can make a damn fool
of yourself any old time.”

The more you scheme to get
your own way the more people notice
what you are really up to.

Do your community a favor

Clark and Rebecca have been severely
bashed and trashed by our former mayor
and city council…and even by some in
our current city council. Scott Laird
of the Vernonia’s Voice has used his
editorial in an attempt to tarnish Clark
and Rebecca’s reputation.

I’ve known Clark and Rebecca
for quite some time and I’ve read their
articles for many years. I have never
known them to publish something that
wasn’t true. They do their homework
before they publish anything and they
can always support their findings.
Occasionally, everyone makes a
mistake. Clark and Rebecca will always
acknowledge a mistake and make
every effort possible to correct it. The
public should be thankful to Clark and
Rebecca for protecting them from a city
council who attempts to hide the truth
from them.

Practically everyone in our
community is aware of the controversy
involving our city council over the
past couple of years. It turned out
Clark and Rebecca were correct in
their investigations. I think an apology
is due. Scott Laird should publish an
apology to Clark and Rebecca in his

To the Editor

I have noticed Marilyn and
Willow that you have taken a new
tactic not to appear to be forcing your
agenda in City Council. You have been
smiling sweetly. However, your lack of
admission or apology for your errors and
not stepping down shows that you are
still set on your own agenda, stubbornly
forcing your will on Vernonians. Your
spoonful of sugar to make your agenda
go down is a masquerade and it is not
going to work any more than your other
tactics did.

Because Hudson would not
speak for the people, the people have
spoken loud and clear and Kevin is
out! You both will be next because
you ignore the people and leaders of
Vernonia. You now have the opportunity
to make the wrongs right where people
can begin to respect you. Please do the
right thing- save our city and yourselves
from more discord, shame and expense
by resigning as soon as possible.

Then you can move on and get
back to running your businesses and the
city can get back to running the city’s
business.
