Dispose of them safely and free of charge at the Vernonia Household Hazardous Waste Collection event Saturday, April 16th from 8 AM to Noon. What’s in your garage? Anti-freeze, mixed fuels and motor oils are collected at HHW events as well. Accepted HHW items include: paints, stains, thinners and solvents, pool and spa chemicals, pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers, poisons, household cleaners and disinfectants, batteries, art and hobby chemicals, aerosol spray products, propane tanks or bottles from barbecue grills, fl uorescent lamps and ballasts, items containing mercury, medical sharps and small-arms ammunition. NO EMPTY CONTAINERS or containers larger than fi ve gallons accepted. Standard household garbage NOT accepted.
