Help needed for Washington workers’ comp expansion advisory group The Washington Department of Labor & Industries (L&I) is con- vening a work group to investi- gate how to expand access to the state’s workers’ compensation system for domestic workers and day laborers. The Domestic Workers Work Group will in- clude domestic workers, day la- borers, employers, and individu- als who represent these workers (unions, nonprofits, or employers who place or hire domestic workers and day laborers) or ed- ucate and organize household employers. Members will be ap- pointed by Gov. Jay Inslee. Domestic workers and day la- borers are generally considered people who work at a private res- idence such as a house cleaner, gardener, nanny, maintenance worker or home care worker.
