Holiday dinner gift cards offered to union members facing hard times Labor’s Community Service Agency (LCSA) has announced a November Holiday Dinner Gift Card Program for union members who are unemployed or facing temporary hardships. Referral forms are available for local union staff to fill out and send to LCSA. In turn, the agency will send those members a gro- cery store food card (from a union grocer) that can be used to buy a holiday meal for the family. WTO protests, 20 years later This month marks 20 years since the “Battle in Seattle” in which tens of thousands of people shut down a meeting of the World Trade Organization (WTO) to protest corporate-led globaliza- tion.
