The Washington CLUB Char- ity Golf Classic donated $94,000 to three charities at its celebration dinner in Seattle in October. CLUB stands for Contractors, Legislators, Unions and Business. The charities are the Diabetes Re- search Institute, Holly Ridge Center, and Seattle Children’s Hospital. Founded by the Washington State Building Trades Council in 2000, WA-CLUB is now the largest multi-trade, labor/man- agement charity event in the state. Since its inception the Mary Stoll, an ERISA attorney out of Seattle, won $25,000 for hitting a “Hole in One” at this year’s Washington CLUB golf tournament. It is the first ace in the tournament’s 18-year history. CLUB has donated $1.48 mil- lion to charities. Next year’s event will be back at Gold Mountain Golf Complex in Bremerton, Wash- ington, June 12-13. BULL Session gives lots of moola to 6 children’s charities BULL Session Charity Events donated more than $300,000 to six Oregon children’s charities that provide life-changing treat- ment and accommodations. The checks were distributed Nov. 14 during a ceremony at the offices of the Portland offices of the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA). The BULL Session is a coali- tion of business, union and labor leaders who come together to help provide support services for children. The money was raised at the 28th annual BULL Session golf tournament and auction, held Sept. 10-11 at the Oregon Convention Center and The Reserve Vineyards and Golf Club, respectively. More than 400 golfers took part in the golf tournament this year. Since its inception in 1991, the BULL Session has raised $6,523,500 for the charities, making it one of Oregon’s largest charity events. This year’s recipients were Albertina Kerr Children’s Crisis Psychiatric Care Unit, Gales Creek Camp Foundation, March of Dimes, Shriners Hospital for Children-Portland, Swindells Resource Center of Providence Child Center, and Wheel to Walk Foundation.
