2010 13 "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows" offers different take on story, sustains suspense J ak e L u tes ___________________ It's safe to say at this poin t w hether or not you are going to see "H arry Potter and the D eathly H allow s Part 1 ." If you 've seen the last six film s, then you w ill m ost likely be seeing this one as w ell. But if you aren 't sure if you w ant to w ait four m onths until it com es out on D V D , the new est H arry Potter offers a different and exciting take on the story m aking it one of the best of the series so far. From the beginning of the film , you know you are in for som ething different— it's real and em otional. W hile the past film s have centered on H ogw arts, this film pulls us aw ay from the school and puts us into cities and forests as w e follow H arry (D aniel Radcliffe), H erm ione (Em m a W atson) and Ron (Rupert G rint) on their search for the rem aining H orcruxes. A t the sam e tim e, they are evading the M inistry of M agic, w hich is slow ly being taken over and sending out Beatles albums finally "All Together Now" on ¡Tunes ;TA ÒANT0R0 It took an argument between two companies and three years for one of the most influential rock bands from the 20th Century to finally make it on iTunes. On Nov. 16, 2010, fans of The Beatles were eager to find the band's original 13 albums available on iTunes, a popular online music service. During the first day, 11 of the ended in February 2007, yet it took three years until the Beatles made their appearance on iTunes. If fans are looking for an accessible way to download some of the Beatles' greatest hits, iTunes can easily supply them. However there are many pitfalls that buyers should be aware of. The price for most of the Beatles’ songs on iTunes has been raised to $1.29 because of their P h o to by E ta S a n to ro The Beatles' "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band," one of the best-selling albums of all time, is among the Beatles music now available on iTunes. Due to copyright infringement, it took three years for all the Beatles' albums to be made available on iTunes. albums made an impact on the Top 25 albums list. Many of the band's songs appeared in the Top 100 songs, and the best-selling album in the U.S. is currently "Abbey Road." In addition to these albums, iTunes offers bonus CDs, cover albums, and a full box set option that downloads the 13 albums. The band which formed in 1960, recorded over 200 songs before they disbanded. Since then, many fans were wondering why iTunes only offered the "Yellow Submarine" album, which features only a few of the band's popular songs. Struggles between Apple Corps and Apple Inc., where Apple Corps sued Apple Inc. for trademark infringement were the reason. The dispute popularity, and the album prices soar at $12.99. They sell cheaper on iTunes' main competitor, Amazon. Also, music bought on iTunes only work for Apple devices, even if you burn them to a CD and then upload them to another computer. Furthermore, many fans have already accessed the Beatles music via other sources. Still, for one of the most significant bands in history to finally have its music on one of the most used music libraries worldwide is impressive. The Beatles pioneered rock music by creating the definition of rock music. They effectively combined country, pop and blues influences to create something completely new, which became the pop and rock music we know today. propaganda posters against M udbloods (w izards from non-m agical fam ilies). O ther favorite characters like H agrid and the W easley fam ily show up in the beginning, bu t aren't seen once Harry, Ron and H erm ione hit the road. A lso, there is a dark and w ell-done scene betw een Voldem ort (Ralph Fiennes) and his group of D eath Eaters to show that the w ar has finally started and that people w ill die. I'm not saying that the w hole m ovie is sad and depressing. The film still has its funny and happy parts, bu t you w ill feel the pressure that's put onto the trio of friends, especially during the scenes w hen the three of them are cam ping out in the forests. The three m ain actors are excellent. By now everything should be natural to them and it is. W e've seen Radcliffe, W atson and G rint grow up right in front of us and you can tell that they care about these characters. The em otions are true and real. T hey are these characters. There have been discussions about w hether or not a certain scene involving tw o characters dancing needed to be pu t into the film bu t I w as all for it. W ith so m uch despair all around them , to put in this one scene, backed by a beau tifu l song, put a sm ile on m y face and gave me hope that these characters w ould accom plish their goal. For those of you w ho h av en 't read the books, you m ay be a bit confused at tim es. The director adds certain things that have never been m entioned in past m ovies bu t have com e up in this book m ultiple tim es, such as a m irror that H arry carries around w ith him . Splitting the final book into tw o film s w as the sm artest thing the crew cou ld 've done. D oing this d oesn 't rush anything and it allow s m ore focus to be pu t on things w e w ou ld n 't have seen as im portant. W hile the pacing m ay seem slow, ju st have patience. Everything w ill com e together w hen Part Two arrives in July. "Call of Duty" goes Cold War A lex H ouston _______________ From Nazi zombies to combat training, "Call of Duty: Black Ops" is the best Call of Duty Game. It is the latest in the long running video game series and presents a new look for the Cold War. Made and produced by Treyarch, the group outdid themselves this time, by adding all of the greatest features from the past "Call of Duty" games and putting them together in COD: BO. For those who already have played all of the other games this may come as a disappointment to you because it's another version of "Call of Duty Modem Warfare 2." But in all truth, why change perfection? In this latest installment, set during the Cold War from 1961 to 1968, you become Alex Mason, a Studies and Observations group operative. You are strapped to a chair in an interrogation and bombarded by questions. Unfortunately, you are suffering from memory loss. Suddenly, a plot against the U.S. unfolds before your eyes. Captured and imprisoned in a high security Russian prison, unspeakable things happen that bring you to the brink of madness. The multiplayer on "Black Ops" is similar to that of the "Call of Duty Modern Warfare' series. Free for all and team death match are two of the different modes you can play. As you play, you earn money and points. When you reach a certain level, you can unlock new guns and items to use in the game. The multiplayer is very similar to previous installments of the franchise. Since "Modem Warfare 2," there has been some rebalancing in guns and perks to make it a more newcomer friendly game. Along with the new purchasing system, there are new guns to play with from the explosive tipped crossbow to the ballistic knife. My favorite thing about this game is the return of Nazi zombies, which first appeared in "Call of Duty World at War" and also developed by Treyarch. All of the original levels plus three new levels have been included, with all different types of zombie fighting action. These new modes allow you to battle zombies in a top down shooter or survive as famous presidents in the Pentagon. The newest and most diverse level, "Five,"t takes place in the pentagon where each of the players takes on the persona of either JFK, President Nixon, Fidel Castro, and Robert McNamara. You have to survive as long as possible with President Nixon screaming "GIVE ME LIBERTY OR GIVE ME MORE AMMO!!!" This game encompasses everything that fans have loved about the game since the start. It is truly the epitome of the "Call of Duty" series. I would rate this game a nine and a half out of 10 because it did the series justice, but the campaign is long and drags on with multiple climaxes. "Call of Duty: Black Ops" is available at most video game retailers or online. The pricing depends on what edition you want. The Normal edition is $59.99 including the game, the hardened edition with exclusive co-op levels and a limited edition Black Ops Medal is available for $79.99 and the prestige edition is $149.99 which includes the hardened edition and a remote controlled working model of the RC-XD (without C4). It is rated M for mature.
