The energy of the staff and students. Every day is an unique experience. What do you think students would be most surprised to find out about you? I seem to wear many hats, but my official classification is Engineer III. My job is to maintain a clean and safe facility that helps provide for a good learning environment. Also, I was once an altar boy! In my spare time I pick up french fries and other assorted goodies. W hat's the w eirdest or grossest thing that's happened on the job? I've seen em' all; crickets, mice, fish, bats. It's weird how a "prank” can turn into senseless vandalism. What's the best, worst and funniest part of your job? Working around teenagers. r How many years have you been work ing at West Linn? Five years What is it that you enjoy the most about your job? I enjoy the camaraderie with my fellow staff members. W hat does your job entail exactly? Keeping things clean and taking care of building needs. I also substitute for other custodians in the school district. What do you think students would be most surprised to find out about you? I am obsessed with disc golf. I play 5-7 days a week and am a member of a local disc golf club. I love introducing new players to the sport. What's the weirdest or grossest thing that's happened on the job? The weirdest and grossest things are not fit to print. What did you do before you worked at West Linn? Are you originally from Oregon, or did you grow up somewhere else? I stayed at home to raise my children for a couple of years. I am originally from the Daytona Beach, Fla. I moved here seven years ago, after falling in love with Oregon the first time I visited. W h a t's the b est and w o rst p a rt of y o u r jo b ? Worst: cleaning up vomit. i How many years have your been working at West Linn? 29 years What is it that you enjoy the most about your job? Working with the students and watching them become adults. What does your job entail exactly? I do laundry for the district. Also, I clean the new commons, girls locker room, and whatever else needs to be done. What do you think students would be most surprised to find out about you? I started dating my husband sophomore year of high school and married him five years later. What's the weirdest or grossest thing that’s happened on the job? Getting a parachute to wash. What did you do before you worked at West Linn? Are you originally from Oregon, or did you grow up somewhere else? We lived in Ohio and moved to Oregon in 1974.1 was a "stay-at-home" Mom till coming to WL. What is the funniest part of your job? Tom Swearingen and I are from the same town and still have family in Ohio, so we almost daily compare weather reports and updates. The custodians already do sojjnuch for our school.
