A Vote of Thanks
At a time when our thoughts
are turned toward commence
ment, graduation, and the re
ception of honors, it is only fit
ting that we should here give a
vote of thanks and appreciation
to two persons. These two per
sons, Doris Zimmerman, editor
of The Amplifier and Marjorie
Huiras, manager of The Ampli
fier, have fullfilled their duties
well.
Doris has worked long and
hard on such details as make-up,
editorials, headlines and such
things that go to make up a
paper. In addition to that she
has had full responsibility for!
each issue of the paper.
Marjorie has worked faithfully
on the financial end in order that
West Linn might be able to sup
port a publication such as this.
Both girls have been success
ful in their posts arid to them
goes a well deserved vote of
thanks and appreciation.—L. B.
Teachers Plan
Summer Vacations
This year the faculty have ar
ranged their plans for vacations.
Mrs. Coan plans to go to
Seattle to join her husband, who
is in the navy. They will leave
from there to “points unknown.”
She hopes “to be back here some
time.”
Mr. Howard plans taking gra
duate work at University of Ore
gon. He will live at home but go

ROUND AROUT SCHOOL
The main topic of conversa
tion this week seems to be the
band’s trip to Tacoma. Morton
(Playboy) Parks came home with
the name, address, and phone
number of one of the more beau
tiful damsels up there. Ih an ex
clusive interview he stated she
may soon have his pin. How that
pin of his does travel. Blenda
Rhodes—well, you heard about
that. Frosh Wayne Robertson and
Chuch Marx had a lot of fun
sticking their lily white tootsies
out of the window of their berth
until the car was put directly
behind a switching engine and
soot started to pour in. Maxihe
Chapey wept to Seattle for the ,
week-end and on her way back i
listened to Peggie Jene McLure I
sing her contest number. Senior,
cards are floating around now.
Some of the more original ones
are engraved, quote. “D.W. Hoss
Herndon,” “Mr. Billie Etchison,”
“Junior Reed.” Nothing like a bit
of originality say we. Mike Booth
and Kathleen Dalzell are one of
the most seen twosomes around
school nowadays. Pete Blyth and
Verle Day haven’t done so bad
either. Tom Ray seems quite in
fatuated with a* senior brunette.
It is rumored that a little fresh
man is all a flutter because Mr.
Ray came back to school and oc
cupies the seat across the aisle
from her. Do Dona Nygren and
