THE AMPLIFIER
HASH-
It is very obvious that Mel
McLarty still believes that the
U. S. navy and a certain gob are
all right. She doesn’t even flirt
with any of the boys in the hall
any more.
It seems as though Buck Barry
has hired Smitty as his private
chauffeur, while he and a cute
blonde occupy the back seat.
Sounds like a good idea.
J. P. Brown really swings a
real “Paul Jones” a couple of
Wednesdays ago. It was notice
that when he had every body
stop to dance he was standing
alongside a very cute blonde.
Hmmmm, how odd.
Bobs Donavan and Larson giv
ing their Hi-Y pins to the “Sis
ters” in Bolton.
Another Bob seen with Verle
Day at the Forest Grove game.
It is rumored that they are both
rather short.
A dark hairded junior, of the
female sex was supposed to have
said, I don’t quote,—If you kids
must know, I go steady with a
college boy—the later phrase is
quite true. I believe the college
refered to is O.S.C.
Jack Hollenbach finding some
thing of interest at O. C. Hi. I
think it is a certain little Eva.
Boy, did those “B” squad play
ers, go for those Beaverton gals
after their game.
Guess what, Chick Elliot and
Bud Merkle going to their Eng
lish class. I couldn’t decide whe
ther Mr. Goetzl was glad, sad, or
overly surprised.
Lake Grove Aces
Defeat Faculty
BY BUD MERKLE
Last Friday afternoon, a group
of talented basketball artists
from Lake Grove shellacked the
local faculty by the convincing
score of 19 to 18. Only once dur
ing the course of the entire con
test were these “hotshots” from
Lake Grove headed, this one time
being as the faculty made the
first basket on a “trick” play.
This play was executed perfectly
as “Kenny” Oliver tried to pass
across the keyhole to “Eddie”
Goetzl, but his pass was deflected
by the hands of “Chet” Tunnell
and bounced i^nto the basket for
the initial score of the game.
“Chet” Tunhell led the faculty
scorers while Snider and Harold
Ness led the Lake Grove assualt.
(Continued from page 1)
stated that they desired quite a
few pictures.
Several students gave their
opinions of how the school and
various organizations should be
run while others felt that things
should be left as they are.
The poll when being tabulated

freshman girl student body mem
bers and freshman boy non-stu
dent body members. Although an
official count has not been taken
it is believed that more under
classmen than upperclassmen
voted. More results will be given
in the next issue.
