AMPLIFIER Seniors To Graduate (Continued from page one) It is claimed that he has contributed more than any other one student to increasing the school’s unusual spirit. Veatrice Rauch as manager of the Green and Gold has been active also. She has taken part in glee club work etc. Jack Graw, has been a prominent athlete, and captained the 1923 foot- 1 ball squad in his senior year, Ruth Robinson is a popular girl and was queen of the Clackamas county fair. Another member I took part in debate, and organization work is Evangeline Christiansen. I Glenn Smith has been prominent in athletics during the past year. He was baseball captain of the U. H. S. cham- Ipions. F Mary Louise Merrick took part in the senior class play and other similar [events. • The honor students were in order of [scholastic standing: Mary Zaniker, Amelia Paulin, Ruth Lund, Dennis Kidby, Jack Hempstead. The class as a whole has been one of the most successful in every branch of school work as well as the largest U. H. S. has ever produced. It will be a large place to fill that the class of 1924 makes by graduating tonight. O. Main Gives Great Baccalaureate Address The fifth annual Baccalaureate ex ercises were held in the Union High School Auditorium on Sunday, May 25, jit 11:00 A. M. The processional march by the Sen iors, accompanied by Miss Clara Bartholomew of Willamette was the first number on the interesting pro gram. The other numbers were: Piano Solo, Miss Bartholomew; Announce ments, Principal J. L. Gary; Invoca-j tion, Rev. J. R. Schaeffer; Selection, Girl’s Quartet; Reading of First Psalm, Rev. J. R. Schaeffer; Baccal aureate Address, “The Higher Part nership,” Mr. C. O. Main; Benediction, Rev. JI R. Schaeffer. The Baccalaureate Address, “The 1 Higher Partnership,” delivered by C. I O. Main, was by far the greatest and I best address ever delivered in the history of U. H. S. It was the opinion of all who heard Mr- Main, that he was the best speaker of any, who have [spoken in the U. H. S. Auditorium. The Girl’s quartet, composed of ΫMisses Elsie Turel, Veatrice Rauch, 1Toy ce Mercer" and Vivian Rauch, gave |a splendid musical number. They were accompanied by Miss Evangeline Christiansen.
