FRIDAY, JUNE 30, 2017 THE BAKER COUNTY PRESS — 9 Local & Entertainment Expect delays for July parades in area Expect delays, pos- sible detours along short sections of US20, US26, US30, US395, OR7, OR82 and OR204 for July pa- rades and events in several eastern Oregon communi- ties. Parades that impact travelers on July 4 will be held in the cities of Burns (Harney Co.), Prairie City (Grant Co.), Dayville (Grant Co.), Imbler (Union Co.), Wallowa (Wallowa Co.) and Haines (Baker Co.). Activities for the Hells Canyon Motorcycle Rally in Baker City (Baker Co.) will result in road clo- sures and detours in the downtown area July 6 - 9. On July 8, parades and other activities related to the Elgin Stampede will temporarily impede traffi c in Elgin (Union Co.) Commercial vehicles and other travelers should expect delays and possible detours in these areas. Below are highway sections and approximate event times and traffi c impact information. Trucking fi rms can also see attached letters from ODOT’s Motor Carrier Transportation Division (MCTD) with further details, including detour maps for the cities of Burns, Haines, Imbler, Wallowa and Elgin. Burns (Harney Co.): July 4, full closure on US20/ US395 between Alvord Avenue and “D” Street, between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m in Burns. The closure is necessary for the annual Fourth of July Parade. Prairie City (Grant Co.): July 4, full closure on US26 for no more than 20 minutes between the hours of 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.. The closure is necessary to facilitate the annual 4th of July Parade. No detour is available. Motor carriers and other travelers should anticipate delay of up to 20 minutes during this time. Dayville (Grant Co.): July 4, full closure on US26 for no more than 20 minutes between the hours of 10 a.m. and 11 a.m.. The closure is necessary to facilitate the annual 4th of July Parade. Imbler (Union Co.): July 4, full closure on OR82 between 2nd Street and 7th Street in Imbler, between the hours of 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.. The closure is necessary for the annual Fourth of July Parade. Wallowa (Wallowa Co.): July 4, full closure on OR82 between 2nd Street and Ellen Street in Wal- lowa, between the hours of 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. The closure is necessary for the annual Fourth of July Parade. (See attach- ment for more info). Haines (Baker Co.): July 4, full closure on US30 between 1st Street and 5th Street in Haines between the hours of 5 a.m. and 12 noon. The closure is neces- sary for the annual Fourth of July Parade. Elgin (Union Co.): July 8, full closure on OR82 and OR204 for short periods (see below for locations and times). The closures are necessary for Eglin Stampede related activities. • Saturday, July 8, 2017 – OR82 between Cedar Street and Albany Street will be closed between the hours of 9:30 a.m. & 11 a.m. for the Elgin Stam- pede Kiddie Parade. • Saturday, July 8, 2017 – OR82 between Cedar Street and Albany Street will be closed between the hours of 3:30 p.m. & 5:30 p.m. for the Elgin Stampeder’s Association Grande Parade. • Saturday, July 8, 2017 - OR204 between 10th Street and 14th Street will be closed between the hours of 3:30 PM & 5:30 PM for the Elgin Stamped- er’s Association Grande Parade. Baker City (Baker Co.): July 6 - 9, full closures on US30/OR7 (Main Street and Broadway Street) throughout the three- day event (see below for locations and times). The closures are necessary for Hells Canyon Motorcycle Rally related activities. • Beginning July 6, 2017 at 10 AM, Broadway Street (US30) between 1st Street and Main Street. • Beginning July 7, 2017 at 10 a.m., Main Street (OR7 / US30) between Campbell Street and Au- burn Avenue. These sections of US30 and OR7 are estimated to re-open by 9 p.m. on July 9, 2017. Road restriction/dates may change due to weather or other unforeseen delays.
