Libby Rick passed Carnahan away of a heart attack while visiting in Cambodia on Sunday, November 6, 2016. Rick worked as a truck driver the majority of his life and then taught Eng- lish in Thailand after mov- ing there fi ve years ago. He spent countless hours coaching and volunteering as a baseball/softball coach for his children. Rick spent two years serving in the United States Navy as a Pri- The vate First Class. He was stationed on the USS Enterprise in places like the Philippines and Persian Gulf. He worked as a Damage Controlman who aided in fi re and rescue, extinguish- ing fi res and providing medical assistance. In 1988 Rick married Carole Christensen in Sumpter, Oregon and their daughter together, Chelsy, was born on May 18, 1990, joining Carole’s three daughters, Kara, Brooke and Lacey. Rick and Carole divorced after three years; in 1999 he married Mary Colton, joining her four children, Jake, Johnathan, Anthony and Lisa. Rick was preceded in death by Homer and Mary Pierce, grandpa and grandma, Martha Shankle, grandma, Rodney Shankle, brother, Doug Davis, brother, Gavin Roberts, nephew and “Mama” Marge Shankle. Survivors include: Mother Wilma (Chuck) Shankle, Father Jerry (Andi) Shankle. His children, Kara (Jeff) Bond, Brooke (Jericho) Rogers, Lacey (Frank) Banks, Chelsy (Jeremy) Groat, Jake Woolard, Johnathan Woolard, Anthony Shankle and Lisa (Zech) Kennedy. Between all his children there are 15 grandchildren and count- ing. Rick’s brothers, Randall (Melissa) Shankle, Skip (Chris) Davis, Boyd (Re- becca) Davis, Chad (Trish) Davis, Tyler Davis, sister– in-laws; Alex (Doug) Mar- kantonatos Davis and Kari (Rodney) Lansdon and 18 nieces and nephews.
