For 2016, Baker County Weed District will again be giving out herbicide on the following locations, dates, and times. This fully mixed, ready-to-go herbicide will be targeting whitetop and scotch thistle. Folks need to bring chemical-resis- tant containers, preferably gas or oil cans, and a pair of chemical-resistant gloves. Please, no food containers. Eight offi cers, four sworn and four re- serves, served customers at Barley Brown’s last Thursday evening for the third annual Tip-A-Cop event. Each year the event pits the Baker City Police Department against the Baker City Fire Department in an effort to raise the most money for local Special Olympics. Barley’s matches some of the the tips, $600 this year, for a total raised of $2,380. Road use fee task force to meet in Salem The Road User Fee Task Force will Meet May 24 in Salem at the State Capitol Building, 900 Court St. SE, Hearing Room 50. The Oregon Department of Transportation implemen- tation team will give an update of accomplishments on the Road Usage Charge Program (OReGO) since Senate Bill 810 (2013) directed the program to be operational on July 1, 2015.
