FRIDAY, JANUARY 15, 2016 THE BAKER COUNTY PRESS — 11 Local & Entertainment Public invited to transportation safety plan meeting Transportation safety ad- vocates, local city/county representatives, concerned citizens and other interest- ed parties are encouraged to attend a public meeting in La Grande on Jan. 26 regarding the state’s draft Transportation Safety Action Plan. The meeting will be held 2:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. at the La Grande Public Library. The multi-year effort is taking the next step toward completion with a round of “listening sessions” taking place throughout the state this month. The public is invited to discuss the draft goals and policies, and help identify “emphasis areas,” which are priority actions to address transpor- tation safety over the next fi ve years. The plan, known as the TSAP, provides long- and short-term policy for mak- ing decisions that address the core transportation safety challenges and op- Bebe’s word search portunities facing Or- egon. It also serves as the federally-required Strate- gic Highway Safety Plan. More information about the TSAP, including background data, other meeting locations/dates and a link for attending an online open house at www. oregon.gov/ODOT/TD/TP/ Pages/tsap.aspx. Anyone interested can also submit comments to safety@odot. state.or.us. — Random Acts of Kindness — Each week The Baker County Press will in- clude a list—all anony- mous, of course—of the good deeds and random acts of kind- ness people from around the area have witnessed. You looked like you were in a hurry, but you walked back anyway and held her by the arm until she got in the building. I just thought it shouldn’t go unnoticed.
