FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 27, 2015 THE BAKER COUNTY PRESS — 11 Local & Entertainment Bebe’s word search — Obituaries — CONTINUED FROM PAGE 2 Rita Tylka Over her lifetime, Rita held many jobs, but her career was her family. She was always ready to lend an ear, a hand, or a good “talking-to” when needed. Her husband and children never doubted her love and support for them. Retiring in 2000, Rita and Richard moved to Baker City. Here, Rita was an active member of the Altar Society at St. Francis Catholic Church and the auxiliary at St. Elizabeth Hospital (now St. Alphon- sus-Baker City). Rita also continued her career of caring for her family. Her mother, Bernice, moved in with Richard & Rita so that Rita could care for her in her fi nal years. When Bernice's needs became too great and she moved to a nursing home, Rita visited her mother nearly every day until her death in 2011. Rita allowed her daughter Barbara to mooch countless meals over the years and pro- vided "doggie day care" for her granddog Pocky. And, of course, Rita always took care of her lifelong friend and lover, Richard. They had a deep, unshakeable bond nurtured over decades of marriage. When Rita's heart disease suddenly worsened in November 2014, Richard was by her side loving, encouraging, and now caring for her. Rita rallied and came home, enjoying a fi nal summer with her husband. Rita Tylka lives on in the hearts, memories, and stories of her many friends and of her family: her husband Richard; her brother and sister-in-law, Raymond and Judy Ba- ranowski; her son Rus- sell and daughter-in-law Nancy Tylka; her daughter Barbara; her nephews Paul and Peter Baranowski; her grandsons Stephen and Matthew Tylka; and her step-grandchildren David Rentauskas, Jr. and Tara (Rentauskas) Schoen and family (husband Michael Schoen and children Court- ney and Nikolaus). Those wishing to make memorial contributions in memory of Mrs. Tylka may direct them to LifeFlight. This may be done through Coles Tribute Ceneter, 1950 Place St. Baker City, OR 97814.
