There will be a celebration of life at a later date. Marlene Mae was born December 5, 1934 to Rob- ert and Adeline Taylor in Portland Oregon. Marlene graduated Girls Polly Tec High school. She later had a daughter named Vanessa. In 1978, Marlene met her husband Dudley at a gath- ering in Portland. They married October 7, 1978 and had recently celebrated their 37th anniversary. Marlene enjoyed watch- ing movies, especially if there was a crime mystery to be solved. She also loved dancing, crocheting, reading, Marilyn Mon- roe and hunting with her husband. Marlene became a mem- ber of the Ladies Auxiliary in 1998. She also volun- teered at St. Elizabeth’s hospital in the gift shop for seven years. Marlene was preceded in death by her parents and brother Bob Taylor. Marlene is survived by her husband Dudley Frost ; daughters Vanessa Barton and Julie Mclean, 1 grandson, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Peggy Perkins Baker City, 1936-2015 Peggy Perkins, 78, died at her home on Thursday, October 8, 2015 in Peggy Baker Perkins City. A Cel- ebration of Peggy’s Life and potluck will be held on Sunday, October 25, 2015 ~ 2:00 p.m. at the Veteran’s Memorial Club in Baker City. Peggy Marie was born on November 21, 1936 to Joseph and Marjorie Lon- gacre in Baker, Oregon. She was raised in Haines later moving to Baker where she graduated from Baker High School in 1955. On April 1, 1956 she married Donald Perkins in Haines, Oregon. Don and Peggy enjoyed deer hunt- ing up Vinegar Hill, or hiking the skyline trail, Anthony lakes to marble creek. She and good friend Clair Rudolph and Pauline Giles were always going hunting, “Peggy was a good shot” or to the lake fi shing, in Peggy’s later years she added Geor- gia Brown and Patty Stockdale to the adven- tures. She also enjoyed riding her Harley 125 motorcycle, and also her Honda 90. Peggy boated and liked to water ski, she was on a bowling league and also golfed. She loved her Green Bay Packers and never missed a ball game. Her Motto which she shared often was “Never fear, Peg is here.” Peggy was the longest living member of the Veteran’s VFW Baker City Post. She had lots of friends and faithfully fed the squir- rels and neighborhood cats. During Peggy’s working career, she worked for Leo Adler Distribution, Western Auto, Crown Cleaners, the Blue and White Lunch (Restaurant) and Safeway. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Patricia and brother Jim Longacre. Peggy is survived by her husband Donald, Sister-in- law Nellie Edwards; Nephew Jeff Longacre; Niece and nephew Danny and Pauline Evans, cousins Jim McCullough and Chuck Rohner; several more nieces, nephews and cousins.
