FRIDAY, JULY 3, 2015 Local & Entertainment DEQ fines City of Huntington The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality has issued a $1,275 penalty to the city of Huntington for exceeding permit limits for E. coli in effl uent from its wastewater treatment facility. The city exceeded E. coli limits in January 2015. Additionally, the city failed to monitor for E. coli at least every two weeks, as required in its permit. DEQ also penalized the City of Huntington in 2009 for exceeding E. coli lim- its, and issued a warning letter for similar exceed- ances in March 2013. E. coli is a bacteria that indi- cates fecal contamination with the possible presence of pathogens and the risk of disease. Littlefi eld has worked on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. While in Sumpter, the group fi lmed in or around the Crescent Mine (of Ghost Mine). Mine owner Larry Over- man said due to confi den- tiality reasons, he could not comment about the experience until closer to the air date. He said they rented the hotel for fi ve days and the Elkhorn Saloon stayed open late to accommodate feeding the crew. Reedy said the group next heads to Forks, WA (yes, of Twilight fame).
