THE BAKER COUNTY PRESS — 9 FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 6, 2015 Local & Entertainment — Obituaries — Continued from Page 2 Midge Nale In 1972, Jack and Midge traveled with good friends, Louise and Bob Morrison, to Eastern Oregon. Both couples relocated from Southern California to Oregon. Jack and Midge initially ran cattle on the Butterfi eld place in Sparta, but the winters were too hard and relocat- ed to Richland in 1973. In Eagle Valley, Midge pursued her passion for art in earnest. She became quite accomplished in a number of mediums, including oil paintings, pastels and charcoal draw- ings. She sold a number of her pieces at the Richland Hitching Post and gave many to family. It was often frustrating for loved ones visiting Midge to see beautiful drawings doodled on the back of a scrap piece of envelope. She also drew and painted original birthday cards that ranged from humorous to exqui- site depending on who the recipient was and what had happened in his or her life that year. Midge loved the movies and especially Hollywood glamour. This interest may have been sparked while waitressing at the Knotty Pine Restaurant in El Centro where the clientele included Hollywood actors and actresses of the early 50s. Midge could always be counted on to know the names of a multitude of actors and actresses and the roles they played. Family members express their sincere gratitude for the exceptional care that Midge received at Bee Hive Homes of Baker City and from St. Luke’s – EOMA. They are especially thankful for the years of knowledgeable and com- passionate care Dr. Schott provided. Survivors include daugh- ter Patricia and husband Joe Cunha of Pendleton; son Joe and wife Nancy Nale of Imperial, Califor- nia; and daughter Doro- thy and husband Theron “Thorny” Hampton of Richland; six grandchil- dren; nine great-grandchil- dren, she was also anx- iously awaiting the arrival of twin great-grandsons who are expected to bring the number of great- grandchildren to 11 next month; sister Nora Cusic; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by husband, Jack Nale, Jr.; parents Walter and Viola McNulty; and grandson Joe Nale, Jr. The family takes comfort in knowing that Jack and Midge have reunited in heaven, she missed him so. Midge’s family plans to hold a private celebration of life this summer.
