PAGE TWO ROGUE NEWS WED., NOV. 28, 1962 Oregon vs. Hawaii - A Difference? Beginning with this edition, the Kogue News will publish several articles written by Carol Hunter, a new student from Hawaii, telling of the contrasts between that state and Oregon. Ed. By Carol Hunter The Climate The climate at Hawaii is warm the year-round, but the humidity makes if hot and muggy most of the time. There is no real distinction be tween seasons as in Oregon. We have our "summer" nine months of the year. The remaining three months is left for the "rainy season." And rain it does! Day in day out. But, contrary to here, it is a warm rain, and the sun in usually shining during it. However, we do have our dark days. The Dress The people in general (on the street) wear what we call "muu muus' (moo moos), and "Aloha Shirts." The students and people, who work in some large depart ment stores, wear a more formal type of apparel, as the clothes we wear to school here. High School students are re quired to wear shoes at all times and boys must wear their shirt tails tucked in, unless they are wearing a square cut Aloha shirt. There are specified days for wearing muu muus and Aloha shirts. Look for "Oregon vs. Hawaii A Difference?" in the next issue of Rogue News for a continued description of life in Hawaii. SENIOR CLASS PRESENTS DEAR RUTH, NOV. 15 On Nov. 15, the A.H.S. student body had the chance to view one of the most enjoyable plays ever presented by the senior class. This year's play entitled Dear Ruth was well produced and the acting was something which will long be remember. Perhaps the best liked char acter in the play was Albert Krummer played by Dave Mott. Although it was not a major role, the part portrayed by Dave made him dear to the hearts of the audience.
