PAGE FOUR ROGUE NEWS FRL, APRIL 1, 1960 Grizzly Siickmen Begin Workouts Despite bad weather, the Ashland High baseballers turn ed out, thirty strong for the first practice sessions of the '60 season. Among the aspirants were ten returning lettermen, nine from last years J.V. squad, and eleven others including the freshmen. Last years lettenmen include Harley Dickerson, Phil Tucker, Paul Alley, Mike Brewer, Brad Gettling, Jim Doster, Steve Harris, Dave Jackson, Duane Nelson, and Galen Roberson. The only real loss through graduation last year was in pitchers, as all three of the starting pitchers have gradu ated. Bill Leybold will be head coach for the second straight season, he will be assisted by John Gray. He will receive aid from the new equipment the school has purchased, this in cludes the pitching machine. The Grizzlies will play each league club in two conference games and have practice games with Yreka on April 23 and May 20. Four practice games with Medford and Crater have also been set. All conference games will be twin bills.
