J*Ui. JULY 1 , 2011 ------------- < nightlife'------------- WVYW.JUSTOUT.COM North, South And In Between "Queers Dance About It" for July’s installment of BENT It’s that time again, queers, when the Foggy Notion becomes the Faggy Nation and ho mos get B E N T . The July installment o f ev eryone’s favorite hot n’ sweaty, clown ‘n’ dirty dance party ups the ante with special guests and, er, special-er heats guaranteed to twist, twirl and tweak the straight right outta ya. Joining resident deejays Roy G Biv and Jodi Bon Jodi are LA Kendall and Lifepart- ner. The former’s been a fixture on the Seattle nightlife scene for well over a decade, the 'founder o f our neighbor to the north’s hitgirl! collective and a force behind popular area parties like Hot Mess and Hard Times. She’s also a vocalist, best known for her single “Kiss My Ass” and for being one half (along with Miss Adraboo) o f electro pop rappers Luxury A.K. All that’s to say nothing of her business savvy. LA Ken dall has brokered talent the likes o f Boy George, Spin- derella and Amanda LeP- ore, and she’s keen on con necting the queer Seattle and Portland talent pools— this Se attle Pride alone, she booked Stumptown stars ChiChi and Chonga, by am a n d a s c h u r r Fannie Mae Darling and DJs T rans Fat and 111 Camino, while hosting what seemed like every party to the north. It goes without saying that LA ^ Kendall knows a good time when she throws it, but E s we’ll say it anyway. PDX peeps are already r familiar with DJ Lifepart- ner (aka Kirk Sutherland), whose sonic stew o f R&B, dancehall, New Orleans bounce, Cumbia, Jerk and Reg- gaeton have made him a deck dynamo among the club masses. But here’s the rub: Lifepartner is set to leave the Rose City soon for Los Angeles. He’s been signed to a major label (Mad Decent)— one o f the first queer deejays to do so. B E N T is among his last gigs here, and your last chances to check out his grimy glam stylings. Toss in “candid photography” by Ginger Girl and “door dandy” Mr. Charming, along with tons o f pulsating pretty young queers, and B E N T is a safe bet. Fri ., July 8, 9 p.tn.; Foggy Notion , 3416 N.
