P R A D O Q Center Announces New Executive Director After a months’ long national search, the staff and board at Q_Center announced May 16 that Barbara McCullough-Jones had been se lected as the organization’s executive director, and successor to Kendall Clawson. McCullough-Jones brings more than 20 years of executive nonprofit experience. She was the executive director ot the LGBTQ_ Community Center in San Jose, Calif., a founding member of the LGBTQ_Center in Phoenix, Ariz. and also founded the Lesbian Resource Project in Tempe, Ariz. McCullough- Jones also served as president of the Associa tion o f United Way Agencies and represented more than 1,400 businesses during her time there. Recently, she served on the board of di rectors for the National Association of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Community Centers, Center Link. “I am honored to be selected as the new ex ecutive director for the Q_ Center,” Mc Cullough-Jones told Just Out. “For such a young organization, the community has built a very strong foundation. I look forward to work ing with the board, staff, volunteers and our allies to push the boundaries of inclusiveness and acceptance of LGBTQ_ people in Portland.” Q_Center’s board and its Executive Director Selection Committee are equally excited to McCullough-Jones and her spouse, Sandra, are from the Northwest and look forward to being back in the region to continue their work and to enjoy everything the Portland area has to offer.
