Gosh, in terns at a newspaper—what a novel and new concept. If I should find myself in the market for a website designer, I’m sure I’ll head right to the rude ones first. Nifty idea, huh? Aside from the designer types who all think they could have done better, reaction to the new site has been very positive. The appearance is tingly good, the functionality is top-notch and the opportunities ahead are virtually unlimited. Please pop on over to justout.com and check us out—and then come back often as we restore old and add new features. We will restore the five-plus years of digital archives. We will have the most complete photo archives of Oregon’s LGBTQ_community to be found anywhere—archives, by the way, that grow constantly in size and scope. We will have the complete contents of each issue avail able in PDF format. W ith the photo gallery, we have switched over to a Flickr account, allowing us—and you—to now tag and comment on photos. As the designer said, welcome to the 21st century. So are we done with the site? Did we meet all our own internal deadlines? Is that all there is? Oh, hell, no. “We've only just begun to design. No white lace but many promises. A kiss for luck and we're on our way. We've only just begun ... with or without an intern, dammit. ” Truth is, our website will never be done. But it will continue to get better—and far more complete. It probably won’t get any prettier, though, because it’s beautiful already.
