Get ready for Vamp, brought to you by Pauline Miriam, the promot er and event planner behind the Hot Flash dance series. Miriam says she created Vamp in response to multiple requests from the lesbian community. “When a dozen or more women ask for a singles dance, I figure it’s a sign and I go for it," she explained. While Hot Flash has been a popu lar dance party for ladies 36 and older in Portland, Eugene and Seattle, Vamp will target a more age-diverse crowd, inviting lesbians 21 and older. . “I’ve made so many marriages in the Portland lesbian community, and I’ve made a whole lot of dates for women through Hot Flash and speed dating,” said Miriam on the phone from Philadelphia, where she is work' < ing to set up a Hot Flash event.
