Call ahead and pick up your feast in less than 30 minutes. Open every day of the week till 10 p.m. The Twilight Room • 5242 N. Lombard St. The University of Portland landmark dive bar is like a second home to many—and not in the had way, either. Family-owned since its inception, the well-worn bar is both wild and homey. The highly “decorated” walls and ceiling along with the old wtxxJen booths are proof of years of love. The hamburger is outrageously delicious in all its greasy glory, as are the heaping nachos and chili cheese fries. The selection of microbrews suit any fancy, and then there are the nice, long pulls on the well drinks, too. Happy hour, karaoke, p<x>l, darts and pinball make this a one-stop party for many folks of all ages, not just hormonal Vikings. On the outskirts of a btximing St. John’s neighhorhtxxl, the gleam ing beacon of the T-Rixim’s neon is a sign of the area's past, present and hopefully future. Wed nesday: A gigantic building has never felt so comfortable and warm before. From the moment 1 set ftxit inside this two-story saloon, it was like 1 had come home. Small rooms with booths and couches lead into oth er rooms with ptx>l tables and Pac-Man, then anoth er with video poker. It’s much like a Chuck E. Cheese for adults. The service is extremely hospitable, and the prices and food are right in line. The huge, gooey quesadilla topped with roasted salsa and mounds of cilantro is surprisingly tasty. Grilled-to-order burgers and chicken sandwiches, gigantic salads and a pletho ra of bevies do a happy girl make. The air is a bit thicker with smoke upstairs, where karaoke and pool tables rule. There is even a separate family dining area to keep folks with their kids apart from the mischie vous “grown-up" children. A haven for Lewis & Clark students, the Gap has something for everyone. © JENNY N guyen is hungry for your food ideas. Send your restaurant suggestions to epiqueerean@comcast.net.
