The 1,627-square-foot rollout site is located in Suite 145 at 1028 S.E. Water Ave. and has a street entrance on Southeast Taylor Street. The site will open in early March, launching with open house activities. The community center plans to operate limited activities, events and hours for the first two years of operation, or rollout phase. De Haan, who identifies as genderqueer, has experience in volunteer engagement and staff coor dination and has a deep commitment to issues affecting the sexual minorities community. She has been involved with multiple not-for-profits for the past six years, including the Trans/ldentity Resource Centre at Outside In.
