The Friendly House program offers seniors an opportunity to interact with the community and share th tir knowledge and experience. It supports seniors in maintaining their indepen dence with counseling, emergency services and social activities. T wenn Cody and Maggie Zadikov will offer the weekend workshop “Sexual Radiance: A W omen’s loumey of Discovery” Nov. 12 to 14. T he workshop provides women an opportu nity to explore ways of increasing their confi dence and safely addressing blocks in their sen sual and sexual expression. In the past, attendees have been women ages 20 to 60, partnered and single, from across the spectrum of sexual orien tation. The workshop offers a respectful envi ronm ent that encourages exploration while simultaneously honoring individual boundaries. “We have learned, through consistent feed back, that this unique group experience has allowed attendees to open doors to healing and growth that haven’t previously been accessible,” Cody says. T he keynote speaker for the evening was attorney Paul Smith, who made history last year in winning the Lawrence vs. Texas case that overturned anti-sodomy laws. “Paul’s victory before the U.S. Supreme Court allowed all citizens, hut especially same- sex couples, to live together free of being unjustly prosecuted for being who they are,” OGALLA co-chairm an George Eighmey said. The evening also honored Susie Shepherd, daughter of Bill and A nn Shepherd, founders of the Portland Town Council Legal Resource Group.
