Its mis sion is to develop affordable housing options for gay, lesbian, bi and trans seniors. SH A R Es housing survey, launched last June at Portland Pride 2002, will continue through the end of August. The results then will be com piled and published in Just Out. Seniors can help SH A RE reach its goal of 1,000 surveys by calling and asking that a ques tionnaire be mailed to them. According to board president Mary Beth Brindley, grants from Portland’s Equity Foundation and Seat tle’s Pride Foundation will cover the cost of the surveying. SH ARE has five working committees in 2003: budget, fund raising, nominating, public relations and survey. Seniors are encouraged to contact Brindley if they would like to join one. C amp S tarlight N eeds C ounselors Tam p Starlight— which gives youngsters -/affected by HIV and A ID S a safe place to enjoy just being a kid, free from the disease’s stigma— needs volunteer counselors. Organizers are seeking people to help the children with swimming, arts and crafts, nature hikes and other fun activities. The camp is free for kids ages 5 to 17 and will be held from Aug. 24 to 29.
