The Rose City Gay Freedom Band celebrates spring with Glitter and Be
Gay! on April 12 at Rose City Park United Methodist Church
Portland Pride 2003 in June. The band
will be leading the parade directly behind the
grand marshal, which is “a great place to be,”
says Ostenson. “Anybody who has marched
in the parade would know it’s just something
that you’d like to do every year. T he energy
from the spectators is overwhelming.”
The leader should have some experience in
color guard, and people who just want to be
part of the team must be “energetic and want
to have fun and be a part of an organization.
The only criteria really would be enjoying what
you’re doing and have a sense of rhythm,”
Ostenson laughs.
The concert, Glitter and Be Gay, starts
8 p.m. at Rose City
Park United
Methodist Church,

Queen-Sized Revolution and Ms. DeMeanor’s
Fat-Bottom Revue, live music, spoken word,
the fabulous FatGirl cheerleaders, a Fat-Bottom
cabaret and even a FatGirl fashion show for
you lovely larger ladies who have the hardest
time finding that perfect thing.

College’s Kaul Auditorium.
This unique show features some of the most
popular choral music written for men’s choruses
from Broadway, opera and the silver screen.

Prince, HM S Pinafore, The Tales of Hoffman,
