Health care, for example, can include substance abuse treatment, counseling, alternative care, food shopping and, in some cases, work. To qualify, clients must he HIV-positive, live in the six-county metropolitan area and have an income below 200 percent of federal poverty level, which is a yearly gross income of $17,180 if single or $23,220 for a couple. (The level rises with addition al family members.) Once eligibility is determined, cli ents can receive a set level of service for a specific time, ranging from gas vouchers to Tri- Met and C-Tran tickets.
